GerberMask™ Ultra Series — Stencil Masking Film

All three GerberMask Ultra variants use the same application workflow, plotter settings, and moisture-resistant liner technology. Choose the right film for your substrate and process — Ultra for general masking, Yellow Ultra when contrast matters, Ultra II for heavier applications.

GerberMask™ Ultra — White

4-mil white vinyl with low-tack removable adhesive on a moisture-resistant liner. The standard replacement for GerberMask I. Removes cleanly with no adhesive transfer from smooth flat surfaces. Suitable for flexible vinyl substrates.

GerberMask™ Yellow Ultra

4-mil yellow vinyl with low-tack removable adhesive on a paper liner. The yellow film makes weeding and stencil placement dramatically easier — especially on white or light-colored surfaces where a white mask is nearly invisible.

GerberMask™ Ultra II — Heavy Duty

4-mil conformable white vinyl with an aggressive acrylic removable adhesive on a moisture-resistant liner. Designed for jobs where a stronger bond is required. Removes with no adhesive transfer. Not for flexible vinyl substrates.

Application & Cutting

Application (all variants):

  • 1. Cut the GerberMask, then weed as a stencil
  • 2. Transfer stencil to sign surface using low-tack application tape
  • 3. Apply paint by hand, airbrush, or spray — not for lacquer-based paints
  • 4. Remove mask when paint is just dry to the touch to prevent adhesive bonding

Plotter cutting:

  • - Compatible with any Gerber sprocketed or friction plotter
  • - Set plotter speed to 50% on EnVisions and friction fed plotters
  • - Use 45° SuperSharp blade
  • - Start with minimum blade weight; increase until vinyl is cut and liner is lightly scored
  • - Excessive weight or speed will cause film to bind in plotter

Surface prep:

  • - Clean, dry, solvent- and petrochemical-free surface required
  • - Do not apply to cold or condensation-covered surfaces. Instead, use SNAPPY Rigid Vinyl Film

Storage & Resources

  • - Store vertically using original packaging in clean, dry area
  • - Maintain below 75°F (23°C) and 70% RH; away from direct sunlight
  • - Cut graphics: store flat or wound on min. 3" core, cut-side out
  • - No heavy objects on top when stored flat; no face-to-face stacking
  • - 1-year shelf life from purchase date
